MEMBERS of Javea’s Tri Llebeig athletics club congregated to pay homage to the three cyclists who were killed on the on the N-332 in May.
The group visited the graves of Luis Alberto Contreras (53-years old), Eduardo Monfort Gasent (28-years-old) and Jose Antonio Albi (28-years-old) and laid flowers.
The three surviving cyclists Jaime Escortell – who was unhurt, Andres Contreras (son of Luis) and Scott Gordon attended the tribute.
Contreras laid a Katusha water bottle at the grave of his father and said it was the water bottle his father used the most when he was cycling.
Contreras and Gordon remain on crutches and both are undergoing rehabilitation – Contreras returned home recently but Gordon remains in hospital.
