JAVEA MAYOR JOSE CHULVI took to social media to announce that the construction of the long-awaited auditorium/ theatre will begin this month.
Mayor Chulvi posted on Facebook last Saturday, advising friends and followers that he had signed the contract with the head of the construction company the day before, calling the project “one of the most emblematic infrastructure projects of recent years.”
He added: “At the signing was Councillor of Culture – Quico Moragues and the person in charge of contracting – Marta Banuls, both of whom I wish to thank and recognise for their work together with Councillor of Works Paco Torres.”
The auditorium/ theatre is expected to be ready in spring 2019 and will have capacity for 524 people. Its 17m x 11m stage will play host to a variety of concerts, shows and large-scale theatre performaces.
Mayor Chulvi said: “Many have promised this in the past, but we will do it and this historic request by the people of Javea will soon become a reality. We keep on working!”
