FINESTRAT’S Council of Youth has organised a ski-trip to the Sierra Nevada from March 1 – March 4 2018.
The Sierra Nevada (meaning “snowy mountain range” in Spanish) is a mountain range in the region of Andalucia.
It boasts the highest point of continental Spain and Europe outside the Caucasus Mountains and the Alps, Mulhacen at 3,478 metres above sea level.
It is a popular tourist destination, as its high peaks make skiing possible in one of Europe’s most southerly ski resorts, in an area along the Mediterranean Sea predominantly known for its warm temperatures and abundant sunshine. At its foothills is found the city of Granada and, a little further, Almeria and Malaga.
A place on the ski-trip costs €250 for Finestrat residents and €290 for non-residents and includes travel (by bus), half-board accommodation in a three-star hotel on the slopes plus unlimited lift passes and classes, as well as insurance.
Reservations can be made at Finestrat Town Hall up until and including Friday December 15.
