No autumn season…again

No autumn season again

IT only seems a few short weeks ago when temperature levels along the Costa Blanca enabled many to experience an Indian summer.  And now, in such a short space of time, winter has struck almost overnight for many and proved the theory held by many that there’s no real autumn in this part of Spain…it’s either summer or winter.

Wednesday morning in Alicante city registered 5.8ºC and Benidorm was only slightly higher with 7ºC, although inland the town of Villena only reached -6ºC and awoke to frost.  Spanish weather agency AEMET said that temperatures have only been recorded so low at this time of year four times previously.  In the case of Alicante city, it’s the coldest temperature in ‘autumn’ since October 30, 2010 when 5.5ºC was registered.
