LAST Friday, Santa Faz Lodge No 48’s Worshipful Master, WBro Brian Duncan and his wife Beryl visited Alicante University General Hospital to present a cheque for €4,300 to Aspanion (Association of Parents of Children with Cancer).

The cheque was received by Aspanion’s Technical Director Alejandro Garcia Gea who gave Brian and Beryl an insight into the charity’s work and a short tour of its facilities.

Aspanion aims to ensure the best quality of life for the children and adolescents with cancer and their families, from diagnosis onwards.

It achieves this by working across five key programmes providing psychological and financial support, recreational support, education and social integration, advocacy awareness and general information.

The funds were raised by Santa Faz Lodge No 48 from a variety of activities and events including a quiz, beach walk and BBQ, a Chinese meal, a Rastro, a Strawberry Fayre and a Valentine’s Day lunch.

The Worshipful Master expresses his greatest thanks to the many ex-pats for their generous support and assistance with this year’s chosen charity.
