GERMANY’S top court has ruled that there must be the option of registering a gender that is neither male nor female on birth certificates. It would make Germany the first European country to allow parents to designate their intersex offspring as a third gender.

Toxic killer

TOXICOLOGY tests suggest a German former nurse murdered at least 100 people at two hospitals where he worked.  Detectives believe Niels Hoegel, who is already serving a life sentence for two murders, systematically administered fatal doses of heart medication to people in his care.

THE TRAIN passenger association Pro Bahn has called for Wolfsburg to become a regular stop on trains to Berlin, after yet another driver of a high-speed ICE train missed the stop on Sunday.   A woman missed a business appointment because of the mistake.

GERMANY’S biggest airline Lufthansa has announced it will add 1,000 new domestic flights per month as soon as they get the green light from Brussels in response to an increase in flight prices on some of the popular German routes, as a result of Air Berlin’s bankruptcy.

A SURVEY by research institute Forsa has found 63 per cent of German citizens are opposed to the legalization of marijuana.    34 per cent of Germans believe that adults should be able to purchase cannabis for their own use in specialist shops.
