THE Torrevieja U3A group took part in two, rather out of the ordinary, trips during the course of one week.
First up was the monthly outing of the lunch club which was held at the famous and popular Monroes Carvery in Moraira where a superb meal with plenty of liquid refreshment was enjoyed by all.
The lunch took place after an earlier visit to Benidorm in the morning where the members – mainly the ladies – were able to pick up some bargains in the shops and the weekly market. For some of them, their newly purchased goods came in handy as they were able to change into their new clothes on board after being drenched in a sudden hail storm which caught some by surprise as they left the restaurant! They may have got a good soaking but it didn’t put a dampener on what was an otherwise successful and enjoyable day.
A few days later, the Easy Walking Group went from Santiago de la Ribera to the ferry terminal on the Mar Menor where upon the walkers were able to test their sea-legs on a trip across to La Manga. Much welcomed visits to the local hostelries on arrival helped in their recovery before returning to their vehicles for the journey home after lunch.
