CITIES and municipalities right across the Southern Costa Blanca are continuing with their post Christmas and New Year festivities. Perhaps you’ve arrived in the area for a Christmas break and fancy experiencing some of the Spanish traditions at this time of the year…or perhaps you’ve forgotten where you’ve left your list?
The RTN has listed some of the major events going on in your area below that we have previously featured…
San Pedro del Pinatar
Friday January 5:
6pm – Three Kings Parade arriving by boat across the Mar Menor onto the Explanada at Lo Pagan, then along Avda. Romeria de la Virgen y Emilio Castelar finishing at the Carpa Municipal.
THE 33rd Artisans Christmas Market will take place in the City of Murcia until January 5, 2018. The market will be located on Paseo Alfonso X El Sabio and features around 70 stalls representing more than 30 types of crafts, with lots of great products. Opening times are every day until Friday January 5, 2018 apart from the dates listed below: 11am to 2.30pm and from 5pm to 9.30pm
The market will be closed on the afternoons of Sunday December 31 and closed all day on New Year’s Day.
Sunday December 31:
11.30pm – New Years Eve Party in the Placa de Baix
Friday January 5: 7pm – Three Kings Parade leaving from Calle Renia Victoria and follow a route along Plaza de Baix, Corredora, Pont dels Ortussos, Porta d’Alacant, Mestre Albeniz finishing at the Diagonal del Palau, where the Kings will greet the Baby Jesus.
THE City Council have put together a number of events that are already underway and carry on until the Three Kings festival.
Sunday December 31: 11.30pm – New Years Eve Party beside the town hall with live music.
Friday January 5: 6pm – Three Kings Parade, known as the Cabalgata de Reyes Magos from the Plaça Jaume II, along Avenida País Valencià and Calle Mayor finishing at the Town Hall where the children receive their gifts.
In the Parque Heroes de Cavite, there’ll be an Inflatable Play Park for children to enjoy with a number of giant rides. They will be open until Thursday January 4 between 11am and 2pm and again from 5pm to 9pm, with the exception of Sunday December 31 when there are no evening openings.

Friday January 5: 11.30am – Arrival of the Three Kings by boat into the Port
12.30pm to 2pm – Three Kings greet the children in the Plaza Ayuntamiento
6.30pm – Three Kings Parade along Alameda de San Antón, Plaza de España, Paseo Alfonso XIII, Juan Fernández, Juan XXIII, Santa Florentina, Carmen, Tolosa Latour, Sagasta, Puerta de Murcia, Mayor finishing in the Plaza Ayuntamiento.
Sunday December 31:
11.30pm – Mobile Disco at the Castle
Wednesday January 3: 7pm – Trons Parade. The route leaves from the Glorieta along C/ Cruz, C/ Alicante, C/ San Antonio, C/ Zorrilla, C/ Victoria, and C/ Elche finishing at the Glorieta.
Thursday January 4: 7pm – Royal Embassy: The official postmen for the Three Kings collect the letters from the children before going on a parade leaving from the Palmeral, along Calles Elche y Glorieta.
Friday January 5: 7pm – Three Kings Parade: Leaving from the Palmeral, along Calle Elche, finishing at the Glorieta, where the presents will be given out.
