Hashish load held in San Roque

GUARDIA Civil officers in San Roque have intercepted more than 1.35 tonnes of hashish.

The drugs were found in a stolen van which officers first located driving paston the A-7 motorway, reportedly showing clear signs of overloading.

After chasing the vehicle for some time, the driver allegedly fled on foot and managed to evade police, with his whereabouts still unknown.

Once inside the van, which had been stolen from Sabadell, Barcelona earlier this year, officers recovered 45 bales of hashish, weighing a total of 1,350 kilos.

The Guardia Civil continue their open investigation to locate the person responsible.
