THE NATIONAL POLICE arrested five people in Marbella for mugging a man at knifepoint.

Three men and two women, all aged between 35 and 55-years-old, are reported to have approached a 19-year-old man and held a knife to his throat whilst they stole his mobile phone and wallet.

The investigation began when the victim reported the incident to the police.
He told of how, one night at the end of November at around midnight, a woman approached him and asked him a question as the men approached him from behind.

The police were able to identify the alleged perpetrators – all of Spanish nationality save for one of the women who is Moroccan.

Two of the five have been detained until trial.
