ROTTERDAM FOOTBALL CLUB Feyenoord has suspended a player for one match and two training sessions after he was caught on camera eating a white bread roll and croquette during half-time in last week’s cup match against Heracles Almelo.

CHILD stabbed
A 15-YEAR-OLD GIRL was stabbed during a conflict in a home in The Hague on Christmas day. The police confirmed on twitter that the girl was taken to hospital by ambulance and they arrested a 36-year-old man. Exactly what happened is not yet clear as the investigation continues.

SUSPECTED terrorists arrested
THE POLICE arrested three Dutch men and one Swedish man in Rotterdam on Christmas Eve on suspicion of involvement in terrorism, After the arrests, four addresses in Vlaardingen, Delft, and Gouda were searched. No weapons or explosives were found but the police did seize a number of data carriers for further investigation.

WHODUNNIT?
THE CAR OF Hennie de Laat, who was found murdered on Hoogvensestraat in Tilburg last Saturday, was found on Bachlaan in the city on Boxing Day. A police officer noticed the Opel Corsa parked on the street. The police are looking for witnesses who saw the car being parked, the Dutch press reports.

THAT’S the spirit
DUTCH KING Willem-Alexander has called on people to work towards a sense of community in his traditional Christmas address to the nation. Speaking at his home on the De Eikenhorst estate, the king said people, should “not be looking for a bigger I, but for the greater we.”
