FIVE new neighbourhood information centres are to be introduced in different areas of Fuengirola.

Mayor Ana Mula explained the idea behind the move: “This government team has put its vision into a fundamental concept: closeness to residents. I have always said that my best team is formed by the Fuengiroleños, by the one-to-one contact that leads to knowing the residents’ concerns and their demands.

“In addition, this proximity allows us to explain situations and why certain decisions are made. We are an open authority.”

The offices are in line to be opened on February 1 and will be attended by two councillors each.

These councillors will be responsible for collecting in person the suggestions, ideas and concerns of residents to try to take action as quickly as possible.

Issues raised can be anything from new road tunnels to requesting an update on a local development project.

On Tuesdays there will be an information centre in the Hermandad del Rocio; Thursday’s will be on Calle Yunquera and at the Elola Sports Complex; and Friday’s will be at Fuengirola Park Hotel and Avenida de Miramar.

Opening hours will be from 10am and 12.30pm and all are welcome to attend.
