Drugs haul seized by Gibraltar Police and Customs

A DRUGS raid has been carried out in a joint operation between HM Customs and the Royal Gibraltar Police (RGP).

Members of the Flexible Anti-Smuggling Team (FAST) from HM Customs executed a search warrant on a residence in the Upper Town Gibraltar, after acting on strong intelligence.

The apartment in Flat Bastion road was raided at around 4pm last Friday although the information has only just been released today (Monday).

Approximately 29 grams of cocaine and 432 grams of cannabis resin were seized, along with some scales and other drug related equipment.

One of the residents of the property, a local 31-year-old male, was arrested and bailed while further investigations are being carried out.

The total street value of the drugs is estimated to be around £3700 and during the search a 20- -year-old local male was also found with 10 grams of cannabis resin on his person.

He was also arrested and since bailed to appear in court at a later date.
