Half a million euros wasted in Benidorm by city council

BENIDORM CITY COUNCIL has faced criticism over three buildings which it spent hundreds of thousands of euros restoring, which are now either not in use or being demolished.

Between 2010 and 2015, the council spent nearly €500,000 refurbishing public spaces such as the Vivero de Empresas in the old Leonor Canalejas houses, an office on Calle Limones and a cultural space in the old Telefonica building on Calle Mercat.

The Vivero de Empresas is being demolished after it was only in operation for just over a year and the other two are not in use.
