STUDENTS in La Nucia returned to school this week and were pleasantly surprised to see various improvements.

Just over €6,000 was invested in works to the municipality’s two public schools – Muixara and Sant Rafel, taking advantage of the Christmas holidays.

At the San Rafael Public School – masonry, plumbing, electricity and locksmith work has been carried out. Improvements have been made to the ventilation system in the bathrooms.

In the gym the old door has been replaced and as with all holiday periods, there has been a thorough cleaning of the playgrounds.

At the Muixara School, the toilets have been repaired but most importantly, improvements have been made to the car park, with the extension of the bus parking and the felling of several trees so that buses can manoeuvre and park more comfortably.

“Again, the council took advantage of the Christmas holidays to perform improvement and maintenance activities in the two public schools of La Nucia. Once again, we demonstrate our commitment to education, with works and actions necessary for the perfect functioning of our public schools.” said Sergio Villalba, La Nucia’s Councillor of Education.
