MARBELLA is to host a European summit on luxury hotels for the first time.

Owners and directors of some of the most exclusive accommodation on the continent will gather in the city for the 45th staging of the event.

According to the President of the Hotel Federation of Andalucia, Manuel Otero, this year’s summit will be focusing on identifying new elite locations.

It is the fifth time that Spain has hosted the meeting and Andalucia’s second, and registration has been high.

In fact, while the package offered by the organisers is for two days of stay, many have requested an extension to three and four nights.

More than 250 professionals from the sector will meet from March 16-18, staying at the Puente Romano while the summit will be at the Melia Don Pepe.

Otero emphasised the importance of the conference to discuss new luxury trends and establish areas for innovation.
