A THIEF was arrested in Alicante trying his luck one more time.

He was caught red-handed attempting to break into a number of slot machines in a bar in the city centre with the help of another man.

It’s not the first time one of the men had been arrested but the 29th occasion.

The two Spanish men – aged 32 and 45 – were detained by National Police officers after being called to the scene by the owner after noticing that his bar – closed at the time in the early hours of the morning – had a couple of intruders, thanks to his video surveillance cameras.

When the police arrived, they noticed straight away that the security grill had been ripped off and suspected that the thieves were still inside.

As they entered the bar, the two thieves were shocked to be caught in the act of robbing the machines and were arrested on the spot.   They were found to have around €600 in cash on them, as well as a balaclava and a pair of tights that they’d used as to cover their identities.

During their questioning at the Alicante Police Station, it was discovered that one of the men was already wanted for robbery with violence, as well as being previously arrested 28 times.
