THE Guardia Civil is investigating the death of a 27 year-old man after a fight that broke out during the Spring festival in Manilva.
A Spanish local was the victim, receiving two punches before collapsing and hitting his head on the ground.
The aggressor has been arrested after turning himself in to the police, although they had already identified him and were closing in.
Hundreds of people had gathered on Saturday night in the square of Martin Carpena, to celebrate the festival.
Despite attempts by paramedics to revive the man, he died at the scene and his body has been transferred to the Institute of Legal Medicine in Malaga where there will be an autopsy.
The Civil Guard is heading the investigation into the attack, and Manilva council has called for three days of mourning, including a public gathering to denounce violence in all forms.
