REAL MADRID star Isco Alarcon has bought a sizeable chunk of the historic San Juan shopping centre in Arroyo de la Miel, where he grew up.
The Benalmadena born player has purchased the upper floor and several lower floors of the building which is a symbol of his former neighbourhood.
Although the business plan is not yet final, Isco is keen to reinvigorate the economy of the town where he first learned and played football.
His representatives are in talks with Benalmadena council and the Board of Andalucia to examine whether the height of the San Juan shopping centre can be extended.
There are plans for a gourmet market and two retail areas, one which is yet to be built, and Isco has also shown interest in an adjoining parking lot.
The San Juan building, built in 1980 in the heart of Arroyo de la Miel, houses some of the most popular restaurants in the town.
