OFFICERS of the National Police have arrested two members of a drugs ring in Marbella for their alleged involvement in drug trafficking and possession.

The suspects are a Swedish man and a Dutch woman, who operated within a fake leisure centre that was instead used to sell and distribute marijuana, hashish and hashish resin.

An investigation was opened after officers heard about the leisure centre which had aligned itself to a campaign to legalise marijuana.

After several inquiries the police launched a raid and the two suspects were arrested.

The haul that the police confiscated included 2,410 grams of marijuana, 400 grams of hashish, 6mm of hashish resin, various tools to prepare the drugs and €1,325 in cash.

A court hearing for the detainees is to be convened shortly.
