OFFICERS of the National Police have arrested a man who is accused of six robberies in a hotel in Fuengirola.
Sources suggest that the thief accessed the building by posing as a customer and once inside, used the “slip” technique, (opening doors with a plastic sheet), without breaking the lock.
The 42 year-old Spaniard’s partner, a 45 year-old Cuban woman, has also been arrested for her complicity.
An operation began after a guest of the hotel complained that he had seen a man in his room on the tenth floor, who had then escaped over the balcony and away from the hotel.
Aware that he was being investigated, the suspect left his apartment in Torremolinos to hide in a flat in Benalmadena, where he was arrested.
The thief stole rings, watches, bracelets and cash from the hotel rooms, and his girlfriend would sell them on.
