STARLITE will begin the selection of its staff next week in preparation for its festival.
The interview process will take place between April 24-26 in the Congress Palace, Marbella, and it is likely that the Nagueles quarry will once again be the venue of choice.
It is believed that Starlite organisers are planning to hire 400 people for the 45 day festival (July 11 to August 25), including waiters, hostesses, bar managers, ushers and logistics staff.
Marbella council’s Public Roads department is currently drawing up the regulations for the use of the quarry, which must be completed before any agreement can be reached.
Last year approval was only granted two days before the festival, and all involved are eager not to repeat the situation.
So far, 29 acts have been booked to perform at the event, including Sting and Jamiroquai, but the line-up is not yet finalised.
The Starlite festival attracts around 60,000 people a year and provides an economic boost of more than €40 million, while the publicity surrounding the concert is expected to be worth €20 million.
