ESTEPONA is to hold a charity march called ‘Darkness into Light’ to help people at risk of suicide, on May 12.
Councillor for Youth and Sports, Adrian Trujillo commented that he expects 300 people to participate in the event, which will raise crucial funds for the vulnerable.
It is a non-competitive march which welcomes people of all ages, and will include the planting of a tree in memory of people who have lost their lives this way.
The charity march will be replicated in 120 cities around the world, and is likely to involve 180,000 people.
Mr Trujillo added that the council feels it is essential to support these kinds of causes, and to collaborate with non-profit organisations who work to assist those in difficulty.
The walk will begin at La Punta de la Plata and will go for five kilometres along the Paseo Maritimo. Those interested can register online at darknessintolight.ie.
