A BRITISH man on the run from the UK has been arrested by National Police officers in Javea.
The so-far-unnamed 36-year-old man was held as part of a European Arrest Warrant following an incident in a Liverpool nightclub back in December 2016.
He was accused of slashing three people in the attack at the Soho club with the most serious injured man needing more than 100 stitches in and around his face.
According to a report in the Spanish media, Merseyside Police has issued CCTV images of the man they wished to speak with in connection with what they described as “savage” assaults.
The incident happened after a row between two people turned nasty and resulted in the now-arrested man taking out a knife and slashing and stabbing the other in the face. The other two injured people weren’t directly involved at the time and were caught up in the frenzied actions as they tried to intervene.
Police authorities in both Spain and the UK have not revealed the exact location of where the arrest took place although it’s understood to have taken place outside the a property where the British fugitive was residing.
