Charity shop celebrates first year

The friends celebrating the first birthday

A CHARITY shop which was the brainchild of Dennis and Barbara Carrier and supported by the Make A Smile Charity has been a huge success from its first day.

Previously, the Make A Smile Recycle team were given the use of part of The Bed Centre’s warehouse in Benissa but as this filled up with the generous donations of good quality furniture, bric-a-brac and clothes from the local community.

A new space was needed which the public could visit and be able to take advantage of a myriad of nearly new items for sale. Barbara along with her team of volunteers work tirelessly to keep the shop looking lovely and process the large amount of new items for sale daily.

The funds raised in the shop are used for Make A Smile’s many projects including educational programmes and extra-curricular activities amongst the many other needs of the local children in care homes.

The charity shop is always looking for volunteers to work one day a week from 10am to 1pm so if this is of interest to you, please contact them at [email protected] or call 634 307 385.

They also consider house clearances, pick up furniture and accept donations of all your quality second hand items and clothes.

You can find the shop at the bottom of the dual carriageway in Teulada Calle Virgen del Carmen 2, 1º.
