CANCER CARE JAVEA made a very generous donation of €30,000 to Jalon Valley Help, much-needed funds for the Fontilles project.
Elaine Horton from Jalon Valley Help was delighted to accept the cheque on her recent visit to the Javea Cancer Care organisation, where she was also able to update them on the developments of the unit within Hospital Ferris, Alicante.
In 2017 the decision was made for a suite of three stand-alone rooms to be funded, which should be available by the end of the year once a lift upgrade has been completed.
The new suite will comprise of three hospital beds, a sofa bed for relatives and three shower rooms.
The latest donation from Cancer Care Javea will fund two of the respite beds with the hospital employing more nurses to care for the extra patients.
Joyce Glenn of Cancer Care Javea said: “We are delighted to let all our supporters know about this latest funding, it is a great project and one which we couldn’t have done without everyone’s help.”
Hospital Ferris, within the Fontilles socio-sanitary complex, is defined as a Hospital Rehabilitation Centre, specialising in care and rehabilitation including convalescence of diseases and chronic pathologies, including cancer patients.
