MAYOR of Marbella, Angeles Muñoz, has announced that a new beach maintenance team has been employed to ensure that the beaches are properly maintained throughout the year.
She said: “We have shown that with the investment of €1.6 million, keeping our coastline in perfect condition has always been a priority for us.
“This will mean that our beaches are in good hands 365 days a year, not just in high season.”
Surveillance towers will increase from 5 to 15, while adapted spaces for the disabled will go up from three to five.
The new maintenance team will be responsible for walkways, showers, 27 toilets, bathing areas and gardens.
A new smartphone app will also be launched shortly, to allow the public to report any problems with coastal facilities.
