ESTEPONA COUNCIL has launched a “Bibliopiscina,” a book fair at the Santo Tomas public swimming pool, with the aim of promoting reading.

Councillor for Sports, Adrian Trujillo, has explained that the initiative will be active throughout the summer, and is likely to be a hit with the 4,000 visitors to the pool during that time.

The book fair will be in operation every Monday from 12pm to 2pm, in collaboration with the local library.

Mr Trujillo said: “We wanted to bring books to both young people and adults, and of course they have more time to browse and to read at the pool.”

Residents will also be able to take the books away with them, if they fill out a form, while newspapers and magazines will also be available.

A range of genres will be provided, and there will be literature in several languages.
