THE price of gas bottles has risen by nearly 5 per cent in Spain and is the first hike in the cost since January.

The standard 12.5 kilo butane canisters, that previously cost €13.27, have gone up to €13.92 after a series of price reductions during the first six months of the year.

The cost of the raw material saw gas bottles drop by 4.9 per cent in March and May, which went against the upward trend experienced during the winter months.

Over the last three-and-a-half years, the highest price paid for a gas bottle has been €17.50 – in March 2015 – with the cheapest recorded between July and September 2016 at €11.27.
