Wednesday 25th July, Alicante Golf
Alicante Golf was the venue this week, we got off to a slow start as the course unfortunately allowed a four ball to tee off 8 minutes late and they didn’t make very good progress, thereby holding up the Warblers, the marshal was summoned and the offending group left the course at the ninth. The hold up clearly did not phase the four balls further down the field as all of the good scores came from the last two groups.
When I say good scores they were indeed, in first place with 38 points was David Knight, 38 points was also the score for Malcolm Monti who should change his name to “beaten on count-back Monti”, third place was taken by Paddy Kenmore with a score of 36 and fourth went to John Daniels with 35, all very good scores on a very hot day.
The Warbler balls were awarded to the top two protagonists who must have slugged it out all the way round, Malcolm also featured on the nearest the pin prizes getting closest on the 17th, with Michael Morley who was closest on the third. There was one singles knock-out game played today and it was good to see Barbara Pollitt back on the golf course where she beat Arthur Sullivan 3 & 2.
The Warblers next outing is to Villaitana, Poniente on Wednesday the 8th August, you need to be there at 10.50 for a first tee time of 11.40. Guests are always welcome with a current handicap certificate. For more information or to book in contact Michael Taylor 639242896.
