AS August comes to a close, then the Age Concern Fuengirola y Mijas group will be re-opening their three weekly drop-in clubs from the first week of September.

These are every Thursday from 11am to 1pm upstairs in the Pensioners building in Los Boliches and also the Oasis bar in Mijas Pueblo at the same time.

The other meeting is held on Fridays between 11am and 1pm at Grill de la Cala in La Cala de Mijas.

There are also some exciting special events later in the year as on Sunday September 23, the popular local singer Ricky Lavazza will be appearing with friends by the pool at the Tamisa Golf Hotel.

Tickets will be available from the Tamisa Golf, the Age Concern Charity shop in C/Francisco Cano, Los Boliches or call 686 289 904.

On October 10, a few very brave (or possibly crazy) souls will be taking part in the Age Concern Zipline Challenge as they fly through the air on the longest Zipline in Europe.

Participants will take off in Spain and land in Portugal and all funds raised help to underpin the group’s charitable work with the senior expat community in Fuengirola and Mijas which includes fighting Loneliness and Isolation.

To take part or offer financial sponsorship please call Steve on 686 289 904.
