ELCHE based PLD Space has signed a €1 million agreement with Teruel airport in Aragon to allow it to test and operate rocket engines over an initial 25 year period.

The space company which is involved in the launch of the Arion 1 rocket will have access to more than 13,000 square metres of operating space at the airport and have the option to extend for a further 10 years if it so wishes.

In return, PLD Space which has been operating in a small way out of the airport since 2014, will invest in the construction of a new control room, offices, access road, maintenance hangar for the rocket engines and a new test bench.
