A GANG of professional burglars who allegedly targeted apartments via entering though communal garages has been busted.
Based in Malaga, the group are thought to have operated along the Costa del Sol and were well equipped for their life of crime.
Four people – three Spanish men aged 27, 37 and 42 and a 25-year-old Colombian woman – were arrested in the National Police operation.
During the operation a variety of tools used to force locks were found, including a master key carved out of a toothbrush.
Officers found more tools including screwdrivers and keys, which were used to open locks and doors, as well as gloves, caps, shoes and a backpack.
The gang would drive away from their home areas before selecting a target.
Their normal routine was for two of the accused to keep a look out, while the other two would enter via communal garages before breaking and entering the targeted homes.
