THE mayor of l’Alfas del Pi, Vicente Arques, met with José Bernardo García, vice president of ASPANION, the Association of Parents of Children with Cancer, and with Alejandro García, provincial coordinator.

They agreed to renew a contract for the third year running which guarantees a donation of €3,000 to the Association which acts to try to make the lives of children stricken by cancer longer and to offer support to their families to cope with the devastation following diagnosis of the disease.

From their headquarters in Valencia and Alicante ASPANION which was formed in 1985, becomes involved in between 130 and 140 new cases of minors aged up to 18 every year.

ASPANION is part of the Spanish Federation of Parents of Children with Cancer (FEPNC), which in turn is a member of the International Confederation of Organizations of Parents of Children with Cancer (ICCCPO).
