THE family of a man who died after being punched to the ground is appealing for help in the hunt for his killer.
Relatives of 65-year-old Mario Sauco have launched a social media campaign featuring the photo of the alleged killer.
Sauco died 10 days after he was punched. He had been knocked over by a mystery assailant and smashed the base of his skull against the pavement.
Witnesses say the alleged attacker, described as middle aged, of a strong build and wearing a red shirt had been following Sauco down the street berating him for unknown reasons.
As Sauco was crossing the road he turned to face his follower who punched him to the ground.
A passerby managed to take a photo of the alleged attacker, who then turned on his heels and ran away.
This photo is the main lead being followed by National Police, and is now being shared by the victim’s family, including his daughter Analía.
The incident happened at 11.40pm on August 4 on Calle Víctor de la Serna about 100 metres from Sauco’s home.
Analía said on Facebook: “My father was a kind being, with a great heart who gave his life for us and worshiped his four grandchildren. We just want this guy to show his face and not be a coward who fled”.
