OFFICERS from the National Police made their way to 19 offices belonging to the iDENTAL Company to check and remove thousands of medical records.
Their aim is to obtain evidence concerning the alleged fraud committed by the company which is subject to a large number of denunciations from different patients.
The officers made parallel visits to their offices in in Madrid, Barcelona, Malaga, Mallorca, Tarragona, Girona, Seville, Castejon, Zaragoza, Gijon, Valencia (2), Cadiz, Alicante (2), Almería, Murcia (2) and Cordoba.
The Company is alleged to have offered customers cheap treatment but charged them in advance and then only partially cured their problems, leaving them in a poor state of health and having lost a great deal of money.
In addition, it hopes that by studying the records seized that the police will be able to establish whether patients were attended by unqualified personnel and if sub-standard material was used.
The final purpose of the raids was to transfer information to the Spanish Health Service in order to safeguard the medical records of the patients.
