AFTER receiving a report from the 112 emergency service, two crews from the San Pedro Alcantara fire service attended an accident on the Ronda road.
A car left the road, crashed over a guardrail dropped approximately three metres and ended up stuck at the entrance to an underground stream where the driver was trapped.
The officers used one of their ladders to gain access to the car and cut open the driver’s door so that they could remove him safely.
The occupant, a male aged 50 who remained conscious during the procedure was secured to a stretcher which was then hoisted back up to the road where an ambulance waited to transport him to the Costa del Sol Hospital.
No explanation as to why the car veered off the road in the first place has yet been put forward.
