NATIONAL POLICE are investigating the death of a 40-year-old woman whose body was found in a building in the centre of Alicante.
According to reports, it’s believed that the body could have been there for 24 hours before being discovered by a shocked brother after becoming concerned that he hadn’t seen or heard of her for a day.
The grim discovery was made on Tuesday afternoon on the second floor of the building where another of the victim’s brother had his business.
His sister was a cleaner there but also apparently carried out work as a beautician.
Initial examinations carried out by the emergency services that were called to the scene suggest that the woman, whose half-naked body was lying on the carpet, could have been strangled owing to some contusions on her neck.
However, the body has since been examined by a forensic specialist and the results of the autopsy will be made public in due course.
It is understood that the door to the room where she was found hadn’t been forced, and one theory being put forward is the victim was with someone she knew before her death.
