A FUGITIVE wanted for more than 20 sexual abuse offences in a number of countries has been arrested in Malaga.

The 58 year-old Armenian allegedly posed as a healer in order to assault his victims, creating a psychological dependence and taking advantage of the women who sought his help, according to a National Police source.

The arrest was the result of an international police operation involving ENFAST (European Network of Fugitive Action Search Teams) and the European Network of Active Fugitive Search Teams.

Through the two organisations, Spanish National Police were made aware of the fact the detained was wanted by Finnish authorities, and was believed to living in Spain.

Investigations led police to a Malaga urbanisation where the suspect was identified and arrested.

He is alleged to have abused ‘patients’ seeking treatment for infertility in Finland, Armenia, Germany and Spain, and awaits a court date.
