CORVERA AIRPORT in Spain is now officially among the international destinations in Europe.
This follows Jet2.com being the first company to start offering trips from the new airport in the Murcia region to the UK.
Tickets to and from the new airport can now be bought from their website to fly from April 2019, with the first aircraft taking off from Manchester and Leeds-Bradford airports.
AENA, Corvera Airport’s managers, have been working for some months on transferring flights from Murcia-San Javier to the new and long-awaited facilities which are planned to be up and running from mid-January.
This project has been the first time that a company has had to face moving all its operations and personnel from one airport to another.
The period on offer on the Jet2.com website is from the beginning of April until the end of October and means that they will stop operating in the Murcia region as from next month before resuming next spring.
It hasn’t gone unnoticed that the tickets are available for flights just three days after the UK is due to leave the European Union, and with the current background of uncertainties of post-Brexit in respect of the UK being able to land in a number of destinations.
