ALICANTE’S regional tourism secretary, Francesc Colomer, has led a visit to Istanbul to promote the tourism and cultural opportunities on offer within the Valencian Community to the Turkish market.
Accompanied by other local and national dignitaries, he made a presentation at the Cervantes Institute located in Turkey’s capital.
During the talk, attended by a number of Turkish tour operators and representatives of the media, Colomer highlighted many of the benefits and the variety of tourism in the Valencian Community.
Not only did he mention the range of hotels on offer to suit all budgets, he spoke of the attraction of the region’s gastronomy which, of course, centred around the paella as the most universal and popular dish.
Colomer also stressed that “Turkey is a market with great potential for the Valencian Community and we must take advantage of the good air connections between the Valencian Community and Turkey to further our destination to Turkish tourists.”
In addition, he explained that the area is a mix of the traditional and the modern, linked by a growing infrastructure of airports, high speed trains and motorway…and not forgetting “the wonderful and friendly welcome and hospitality that all visitors receive.”
