FUENGIROLA’S councillor for Culture, Rodrigo Romero, has announced that legendary British rock band Ritchie Blackmore’s Rainbow will be headlining the town’s inaugural Rock the Coast festival next summer.

The hard rock festival will be on June 14 and 15, and will involve around 40 bands from around the world.

It will take place at the Marenostrum Music Castle Park in what is the biggest rock event in Andalucia.

Moreover, it will be the only concert from Ritchie Blackmore’s Rainbow in Spain, as its “Rock Memories 2019” tour takes it abroad straight afterwards.

Councillor Romero said:

“There is no doubt that rock has a fundamental importance in the history of music and we are going to have one of the great bands of its golden age headlining.

“This is truly a unique opportunity to see the legendary Ritchie Blackmore’s Rainbow.”

Other bands will include UDO, Graveyard, Dark Tranquility and Opeth.

All the performances will take place both inside and outside Castle Sohail.

Tickets will be on sale from October 17 at 12:00 hours on the Marenostrum Castle Park website, and
