BEFORE the end of this year, the iconic ‘Vertical Garden’ in San Vicente del Raspeig will be brought back to life.

Two companies have submitted themselves to be considered for the €150,000 contract, and the San Vicente Council will be asking for a subsidy from the Alicante Province to cover most of the costs.

The garden has fallen into a poor state of repair during the past two years as a result of a broken lift.  With nobody unable to reach the area, all of the plants have either dried out or died completely.

The ‘Vertical Garden’ is one of the very few of this type that exists in Spain and is included as one of the protected areas in the municipality.

The planned repair works will see a total renewal of the metal frame that has severely rusted and a new automatic watering system installed.

VISION: The Vertical Garden is to be renovated
