MARBELLA has hosted its first International Tourism and Equality Forum, with the participation of a range of professionals in the sector to discuss the issue.
Congress Palace was the venue for the conference, which comes shortly before the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against women on November 25.
For the first time, professionals from the United Nations, Marbella University, business, tourism, hospitality, and women’s organisations have met with the council to discuss and share their experiences and views.
Councillor for Equality and Diversity, Isabel Cintado, said:
“We consider it essential to start with the perspectives of women in industries where they make up a large percentage of the workforce, but where they tend to occupy precarious, low-level positions.”
