An officer from Birmingham has been removed from front line duties. After shocking video footage has emerged of him striking a 15 year old boy then kicking him after he fell to the ground.
The unnamed Police officer can clearly be seen grappling with the child just moments after calmly restraining him. He had told the boy that he was being stopped and searched under the Misuse of Drugs Act on 21st April. The incident happened in Melbourne Avenue, Birmingham.
West Midlands police had stopped him after he had been seen “acting suspiciously”. Refusing to co-operate and “elbowing the officer in the face”
The officer involved has not been suspended but removed from front line duties while an investigation is being carried out.
