Closure order issued to household multiple lockdown offender

Policed in Widnes, Cheshire have been called to a single address in Foster Street 30 times in the last 4 weeks. This over complaints of people deliberately flouting lockdown rules.

Closure order: The occupant has had large parties with many people gathering both inside and outside the property. This has caused harassment and distress for nearby neighbours.

The property has now had a closure order issued after multiple fines failed to deter visitors. This order is normally reserved for trouble pubs and clubs and is the first of it’s kind to be given to a private tenant during the lockdown. It states that the tenant will face 6 months in prison should anybody else be found at the property within the next 3 months.
