Germany’s transmission rate rises as lockdown eases

Germany’s transmission rate is already seeing a rise again in cases of COVID-19. Just days after starting to ease their social and commercial lockdown.

Authorities have said that Germany’s transmission rate has gone from 0.9 where it has been for a few days running to 1.0. This basically means that 1 person only infects a maximum of one other person. Chancellor Angela Merkel, herself a scientist, said that ” we have to stay disciplined and vigilant”. She stated that “it would be a shame if we had a relapse with our eyes open”. According to data sources Germany has 158,758 confirmed cases with 6,126 deaths.
