Matt Hancock, Health and Social Care Secretary declared his evening that families of brave NHS, care and front line workers that have lost their lives “In the line of Duty” will receive a £60,000 assurance policy.
“Of course, nothing replaces the loss of a loved one but we want to do everything we can to support families who are dealing with this grief”
Currently eighty two NHS and sixteen front line workers have given their lives to help the country in this epidemic.
The secretary stated “I feel a deep personal sense of duty that we must care for their loved ones”
The announcement was made at Downing Streets evening press conference.
Todays figures for UK fatalities are at an all time low of 360. The lowest since 30th March.
