A supply teacher had been jailed for a total of 8 and a half years for the sexual assaults of 6 girls at a primary school in Yorkshire. This coming 2 years after similar allegations against him were dropped.
Jonathan Philip Clayton, 27, was convicted on 13 counts of sexually touching the girls, aged between 7 and 11 over a short period last year. In the trial at Teesside crown court it came to light that a previous allegation had been made by a pupil at a school he had taught at in 2017. But was subsequently dropped. He admitted that he hugged the children. Helped them to get dressed and sat them on his knee but denied sexual misappropriation.
Police described Clayton as ” a very manipulating man who touched girls for his own gratification”.
