PICS (Paediatric Intensive Care Society) tweeted earlier urging social sharing of the item.
UK Kids could be at risk: ‘Over the last three weeks there has been an apparent rise in the number of children of all ages presenting with a multi-system inflammatory state requiring intensive care across London and also in other regions of the UK.’
To date just nine kids under 19 have fallen to the coronavirus in the UK.
However, concerns are being raised at the amount of kids being admitted with respiratory problems and internal swelling recently.
Thankfully to date, very few children have died worldwide. Due to generally better health and fewer respiratory problems, most kids are very resilient to the current coronavirus outbreak.
Some additional symptoms are stomach pains, diarrhea and vomiting.
Most of the cases so far have tested negative for the actual virus, so further investigation is required to determine the actual problem.
The Health Service Journal reported that this is affecting only a fraction of younger patients admitted. It is too early to make a full diagnosis. The statement made by PICS is purely precautionary at this stage.
